Lunar eclipse of 20 December 2010 at 23:21: You can see there are clouds throughout the night. Moon has entered the Umbra (inner shadow). The moon appears red because the bluish light from the sun is scattered (that's why the sky is blue) but the reddish light gets refracted around the earth and then reflected off the moon.
